My story

Seven minutes from Buckingham Palace. A world away from it.

I grew up on a London council estate with a stammer. By eighteen I'd been groomed into a gang, stabbed more than once, made homeless and turned down for more than 75 jobs. I had no great leaders growing up, and I never once saw myself as one.

What I didn't know then: I wasn't just going through it. I was growing through it.

So instead of university, I spent twenty years studying people and leaders: why capable people stay stuck, and what makes them move. I built businesses, then walked away from the safe one to chase the stage.

Then HM King Charles III told me in person I'd won a Pride of Britain Award, and the BBC, ITV, Sky News, Channel 4 and Good Morning Britain told the story.

Your people won't remember my slides. They'll remember that change is possible, because they watched someone who lived it.
